Monday morning, my parents and I visited Hurricane Shoals, a county park about twenty minuted from their home in Georgia. While there, we saw a gorgeous great white egret fishing in the river. The bird allowed us to get remarkably close and we sat and watched it for a while. When the bird finally decided to move on, it lifted into the air and passed right in front of us.
My mother and I both snapped away, but panning shots are something that I am not practiced at and was not really prepared for. However, I did get one great shot of the bird's reflection in the surface of the river. I flipped the image, cropped and made my adjustments. I am pretty happy with the results.
Thought you might want to see a more conventional image of the beautiful bird.

The baby birds should be flying any time now. It's amazing how many of the big kids can fit in a nest.

How can you not love to see flamingos? They are simply beautiful. Don't you wish you could tuck yourself in for a nap like that?

The new rooster at the farm needs a name. Any ideas?
cooper’s great expedition
Our youngest cat, Cooper, has recently decided that he needs a little adventure in his life. Stalking the ground hog (Gary) that lives under our shed is no longer challenging enough. After all, Gary lets him come as close as he wants. What Cooper wanted was something new. Something that would cement his reputation with the other cats. He found it on the roof. Now, he is addicted to the adrenaline rush. He's up there all the time. Or maybe its just the one time and he can't get down?

sheep sheering
Saturday was sheering day on the farm. All of the sheep were collected and given their summer hair cuts. The wool will be sent off to be processed and then spun into yarn. I am always amazed at how docile the sheep become when you sit them up and start cutting their fleece.
