There are two new cats at the farm, yet to be named. It seems that somebody "dropped" them off and that they've taken up residence. Longtime feline resident, Sarah, commented "Wtf? People just slow down and flip a pair of cats out the window?"
No comment Sarah. No Comment.
While in Atlanta, visiting my parents, we discovered that their cat, Miss Kitty, has a new favorite place to nap. Seems that the cabinet holding all of the quilts is the perfect place to snooze. The life of a cat can be reduced to a few simple rules.
I know that all of our family cats have these rules tattooed onto their skin. It's good to be a cat.
My cats love windows and they like that spot on the floor created by sunshine coming through the windows. This makes them normal cats. And to tell you the truth, I think that if I were a cat, I'd like that spot on the floor as well. The problem is that as the sun moves, so does that spot. I would have to constantly get up and move to the new spot. Because, well you know, I would be a big cat and I wouldn't have much spot to spare. Just saying.

This is my best girl, Betty. She talks to me every day after I get home from work. She tells me about her day… about chasing the leaves in the yard, pouncing on a bug or the bird that got away. Every night she jumps into bed to spend some quality time. A little back scratching and ear pulling are what she likes best.

This is one of those shots that you see right away. I looked up and saw Sabi sitting on the edge of the cabinet and then saw Betty sitting by the table and thought "I need to get this one". Luckily, I was packing my camera gear with a mind to take a ride on this gorgeous day.
Sabi did a rare thing and actually looked into the camera. Snap, it was in the can. Sometimes taking a shot turns out just the way you envisioned it. Even with cats.

Meet Cooper, our youngest hoodlum. You can call and call and he will completely ignore you. This is one of his favorite spots, half tucked in behind the curtains. He believes that you can't see him sitting there. Even though half his big butt is sticking out for all the world to see.
Cooper is the cat that all of the other cats thinks is slightly off. That's pretty bad for a cat.
His royalness, Prince Jacky, rules over his domain in our living room. This is his throne. Nothing is allowed on top of this table except for himself and his “throne”. If you place anything else on his throne, he will get a bit of an attitude and knock it onto the floor. No wallets, keys, lamps or phones.
Petting is allowed and encouraged.
It's not easy living in a box. The lifestyle is certainly not for everyone.
It's a tight space. At times you feel as though you don't have the room to turn around. You had better not have any claustrophobia at all.
You always get the sense that you are on display and that all the world is looking down on you for your choices.
Still, on the plus side…there are those naps. Oh, the naps…..
As I was leaving the farm, I made a new friend in the parking lot. This is my favorite breed of dog, so I stayed and chatted for a few minutes.
Say hello to my parent's new stray cat, affectionately named "Yellow Cat" for his yellow coat. He's a fine cat, just very shy.
