Here in Springfield, Ohio, we have a little piece of crazy American oddness called the Hartman Rock Garden. I can’t explain it, except to say that decades ago, one man decided to teach his grandchildren about american history through concrete and stones. I have a little “foo dog” that was given to me by a friend of mine. It is weather beaten and old, but I love it because it is unique and gives me memories of a wonderful person.

In the botanical gardens in Melbourne, there is an old carving of painted fairies at the base of the tree. Children and adults alike love it. This post reminded me of that. My own photos of it are back in Australia, but I found a link:
