Somewhere between Athens and Winder, GA is a cross roads full of antique stores. There is also this one shop that my father can’t resist. In an old industrial building is a store that is stocked with the kind of junk that Odd Lots turned down. Next to a pallet sized box full of men’s tightie whities you’ll find a shelf full of odd bits of rope and a bin full of rainbow colored canvas tarps.

On this particular trip, dad walked away with some sanding belts and a box of steel wool. Because, no man goes without steel wool and sanding belts. It’s written in the Man Book. Go look it up.

Have a great day.

Bel Air in the Fog

Sunday morning, Josh and I went for a drive and had breakfast out. He was driving and quickly learned to handle my sudden screams of "Stop!" He never even complained. This is one of the resulting photos.

I love to drive around in the morning with no destination in mind. I never know what I will find.

Mill Stairs

Nothing quite so interesting as a stairway to heaven. However, there is some very nice light and lines for you to enjoy. This one was taken in the Braselton Bros. mill in downtown Braselton, Georgia during last weeks vacation with my family. I'm sure that there are a few more images form the mill to come in the future, so stay tuned.

Reflection in Flight

Monday morning, my parents and I visited Hurricane Shoals, a county park about twenty minuted from their home in Georgia. While there, we saw a gorgeous great white egret fishing in the river. The bird allowed us to get remarkably close and we sat and watched it for a while. When the bird finally decided to move on, it lifted into the air and passed right in front of us.

My mother and I both snapped away, but panning shots are something that I am not practiced at and was not really prepared for. However, I did get one great shot of the bird's reflection in the surface of the river. I flipped the image, cropped and made my adjustments. I am pretty happy with the results.

Thought you might want to see a more conventional image of the beautiful bird.
