Who could resist? If there are buttons to be pushed, I'll be sure to push every one of them.
This is one of those photos that you see the moment you turn the corner. I was across the farm yard when I saw the girls and I was a fraid that they would run off before I could get closer. I walked slowly towards them until I was close enough to get the shot and then fired off a series of photos.
This image is all about the girls wearing their pinnies contrasted against the massive side of the red barn. It's an iconic image that speaks of the simplicity and of an era past and the innocence of youth.
In keeping with Jodi's full dance season, she had a performance on Saturday night. Unfortunately, in the middle of the performance, the sprinklers came on and soaked the audience. The lawn seating cleared in an instant.
Not to be deterred, the troup simply moved to the parking lot where the audience gathered around and watched the girls finish dancing. When you are a photographer and a dance hsuband, you never know what you will see. Life is certainly interesting and full of surprises.
Perhaps the great attraction centers on the artwork displayed inside of the gallery? Did I mention that the storefront was actually a gallery? It is a gallery.
However, I suspect that the true source of this weekend's excitment might have something to do with the zills in this young belly dancer's hands.
Perhaps it was this pretty flower. Although, that's a silk flower and really should not garner any kind of rapt attention. What else is there to look at in the window?
Well, there is this giant smile. Seems like it's not a really committed smile. As though the person making the smile isn't really sure if they are pleased or not.
There seems to be quite a few people inside the store. I wonder if they have something to do with the crowd that was gathering outside of the storefront? Maybe we will find out what was going on in tomorrow's post. You never know.
The conversation went something like this:
Me: I am going to take your picture in front of the purple wall. Isn't that exciting?
Jodi: ooooooooooo!
Me: Here, put this feather thing on your head.
Jodi: Really?
Me: Now look at me like you love me.
Jodi: I am so going to get even with you.
And that people is what you do when you are bored out of your mind and the sun has not shined on a weekend for weeks on end. You begin to go stir crazy and you take it out ont he ones you love the most.
Have a wonderful week.

Spring is just around the corner and I hope that means we will have our bikes out on the bike paths sooner rather than later. Biking is something that Jodi and I have always done together. We typically get on the bike path and ride to the next town south of us, Yellow Springs. Sometimes we will park our bikes and do some window shopping or get lunch at The Winds. Some days, we would just turn around and head back.
Last year was the exception. Last year, we let life get the best of us and rarely had our bikes out at all. With that in mind, I spent that alst week of lunches working on this illustration in hopes of convincing Jodi that this would be a great time to start thinking about doing some biking as soon as the weather allows.
I'll let you know how my request turns out. However, this little bribe of an illustration should go a long ways.
