You won't believe all of the high pitched squealing that goes on around here when we pull into the driveway and see bright flowers popping up around the yard for the first time each year. You would think we were a bunch of pre-teens and Justin Bieber had just showed up. Really, it's that bad.
I don't know what kind of plant this is. I do know that it was red and that it was huge. That's all I know. Sorry, you deserve better details. I will try to do better the next time I see a big red plant.

Yesterday I spent my lunch hour photographing orchids at the Franlin Park Conservatory located in Columbus, OH. They are setting up for an orchid show that will start this weekend. I thought that right about now, we could all use a little color to help us get through the rest of the winter.
I have been dreaming of Spring all week. The dreary Winter skies are beginning to get to me. I want to see the crocus poke up out of the ground. I want to see the pussy willows appearing on bare branches. I want Spring.
And so, when a co-worker recieved tulips from her daughter, I grabbed my camera and shot a few frames. I am hoping the gorgeous colors will tide me over for a few more weeks. Maybe I am an optimist?
