A common sight this time of the year, but I never get tired of seeing the pretty leaves floating in the streams and ponds. This one was captured on the pod at Huffman metro park, near Dayton.
Yesterday morning, we drove down to Clifton, OH to hike in the gorge. The weather was spectacular and we all know that we don't have many more of these nice weekends left. The trail was deep in fallen leaves and they crunched under our feet as we walked. Sunny day, chill air, pretty leaves, babbling water, and fall smell in the air. Yeah, it was that nice… really nice.
How cool is this silhouette created in Dayton on Saturday morning? It's the water tower that I really adore. For some reason, I love these old dinosaurs. This image made the trip into Dayton in the wee hours worth the effort. The entire area around the ball park and near Canal Street tavern is pretty interesting from a photographer's point of view.
This morning I visited one of my favorite barns, located in Huber Heights, Ohio. The scene looked perfect for our first frosty morning of the season. I've visited this wonderful centennial barn many times during different seasons, times of day and weather conditions. This morning seemed to be perfect for taking a monochromatic approach.
I sometimes get into a black and white image phase. I become enamoured with the wonderful tones and textures that B&W photography can give you. The current phase has lasted longer than most and for that I will apologize. Still, the simplest of objects, like this glass pitcher, can be stunning in shades of grey. My eye is drawn to the shape of the pitcher and to the lines of the reflecting glass. When I have had enough, I will return to color in all of its glory. For now, I am in love with the simple beauty that is black and white.
