tidal pools

Another image from the beach on Sunday morning. This one is of the rocks and tidal pools. The sun was just clearing the trees and sand cliffs behind me. I can’t begin to describe how wonderful the ocean smelled or the sound of the waves. You will just have to use your imaginations.

Have a wonderful Tuesday folks. Tomorrow is a travel day back to Ohio. One more day of remarkably good meetings and maybe some evening photography tonight.

driftwood

Yesterday, I waded in the Pacific for the first time in many years. It really felt great to be there. I had the beach to myself for over an hour. This was my first stop in a 14 hour marathon that encircled the entire Olympic peninsula in a single day.

More pictures to come. But, first, I did come out here for work and I have meetings to go to. People to meet. All great stuff.

prairie rockets

Prairie Rockets

I have no idea what these plants are. However, they remind me of rockets erupting from the prairie grass and reaching towards the sky in a massive salvo. You didn't know that I knew words like salvo did you? I am chock full of surprises.

Have a great week folks.

my new music crush

Yes, I have music crushes. I am well aware of the fact that I become enamored with a voice and listen to it until I am done. That might take as little as a day or six months. It just depends on my mood and how deeply the singer engages me at the time.

For the last two weeks, it’s been Lisa Hannigan and her new album Passenger. It’s a very well balanced album full of great listens. I regret that I narrowly missed her first solo album Sea Sew. I was vaguely aware that the album was out, but for some reason or another, I never got around to giving it a listen.

I think I might just have to go do that.

a whole lot of wishes

A whole Lot of Wishes

I visited Th's fountain over the weekend and saw all of these coins sitting at inside. Each coin represented a wish that somebody had deposited at the bottom. I figured that the fountain contained a couple thousand wishes and probably received tens of thousands of wishes each year. That's a lot of wishes. What if they all came true?

If every wish in Th's fountain came true. A lot of happy people would be walking around central Ohio. The chances are that I would run into one every once in a while. Now, when I see somebody with a particularly happy smile, I will wonder if they threw a coin in the fountain and made a wish.

all cooped up

Cooped Up

Fall is here and that means that the weather is getting cooler and wetter. While this is my favorite season, I am also cognizant that the season is fleeting and that coming right behind Autumn is WInter. Winter with its cold, snow and short days. I know that three months form now, I will feel just like this chicken, all cooped up and wanting to get outside.

Chicken Coop

On the other hand, I tend to be an optimist. I like to make the most of the moment, so I am going to focus on the leaves that are beginning to change and at the last of the summer's flowers. I'll save thought of the coming Winter for another time, when I can no longer avoid them.
