The Boat House

Here in Springfield, Ohio USA, we have a very nice park that winds along the river. The park is dotted with ponds full of geese and ducks as well as an occasional old victorian building. The boat house is just one example.

This image is an example of how an overcast sky allows you to shoot in the middle of the day, long after the golden hour has passed you by.

  1. This is a beautiful shot Tim. I agree about shooting in the middle of the day and even if your shots are blown out, it can be fixed…..well mostly.
In this case, it looks like you had the benefit of shadow, a lot of detail and really vibrant colors…
    Gorgeous

  2. Thank you Mike. It’s nice if you can always shoot at the golden hour, but real life doesn’t work that way. Shade and overcast skies can be a photographer’s friend when shooting during the rest of the day.
Thank you for your great comments.
